Food post + review: Sukishi IOI Mall, Puchong

Well, I did not intend to write anything about food on my blog, but I really liked my visit to Sukishi in November I just had to share. It was a small family gathering so I did not really take drool-worthy food blog-esque pictures, haha!

My mom studying their menu

We booked a table for six using our Groupon vouchers, but when we arrived at 3pm on that Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was very packed!

In the end they let us use the private room! Wow~

We went to the buffet bar to get our food!

The sushi bar, they replenish the sushis pretty fast

Well, there's not many choices available at the buffet bar. There's a lot of fish balls/meat balls etc, and only 1 type of clam there. I guess they made it up by serving really fresh vegetables though!

There's a lot of sauce and seasoning available at the bar

Snapping away when a new plate of sushi arrived!

We tasted the sushis first as it was already wayyy past lunch (3pm) and we were so so hungry! The sushis were pretty good, but I only managed to eat a few because I had to leave some space for the sukiyaki right?

We had all 4 types of soup that was available there, which were sukiyaki, kimchi, miso and shabu shabu. I had kimchi soup at my side of the table. It was good. Not very spicy at the beginning, but of course as the refills came in and the soup thickened it became very spicy and salty.

The complimentary tori karaage- only 1 plate for 6 persons though

An in-house special meat paste by the owner
The waiters gave us a special meat paste for free. It was great. However it wasn't quite enough for the 6 of us, though!

The thinly sliced chicken/beef/pork are ordered at your table and the waiting staff will deliver your orders to you.

I seldom eat the fatty part of any meat, but this was too good to resist!
The meat was very fresh, I especially like the pork slices! Yums.

As the soup became very salty, you can finish off with a serving of udon! It was delicious~ (tip: to decrease saltiness- throw ice cubes inside instead of refilling the soup)

My dessert of the day!
For drinks, they serve a variety of soft drinks and green tea. We were so full nobody ate dinner that day!

Freshness: 4.5/5 The vege+meat were very fresh, but the freshness of the sushi may not be on par with sushi restaurants, but it was okay to me.

Ambience: 4/5 Great room, but the air cond made us freeze even when eating the hot pot! BGM: Kpop songs hahaha!

Food Selection: 3.8/5 I wished they added more seafood choices... like mussels or prawns! :)

Service: 5/5 Waiting staff came in at intervals to make sure that we have enough food, tea, soup!
