Review Naruko Rose HA Aqua Cubic Foam Cleanser EX

Weight  :150gm
Price      : RM 29 ish
I bought this from: I got this during Hermo's anniversary sale last year i think

I had really high hopes for this because of its claims. Moisture! Plant extracts! Non-tightening after wash! And most importantly, I was looking forward to the smell.

True enough, the smell is glorious. However, with my prev experience with Naruko, the smell will deteriorate over time. True enough, the smell started to tone down after 2 weeks' use.

The paste is pearly white. Which according to my experience, it means the cleanser has a high possibility to be drying and leaving that squeaky feeling after wash. True enough, it left my skin feeling squeaky after washing.

What's weird with this cleanser is how my skin feels after a wash. Sometimes I feel that it doesn't clean my skin thoroughly, albeit leaving my face feeling tight. After a few experimentations, I found that rubbing the paste directly onto my wet face (around 1.5cm long) and slowly rubbing in circles and adding water makes my after wash face feeling most moisturised and clean. Weird huh.

According to Reddit's AB community, this cleanser has a PH of 8 to 10 (!) PH aside, I find that it actually improves my skin condition. Less dryness, healthier skin with each wash. I feel that it inhibits pimple growth slightly. I could be wrong tho.

Overall speaking, this cleanser smells great, however, this cleanser requires a bit of tweaking on the usage to leave my skin properly washed. For this point, I really hope that they can make it in a lower ph version. My skin doesnt really agree with foam cleanser that much.

Packaging : 5/5 no frills & it looks pretty in pink
Price : 4/5
Cleansing power : 3/5
Other benefits : 3.5/5
Overall : 3.8/5

Review: Coni Beauty Aloe Vera Soothing Cleansing Mousse

Volume: 330ml
Price : RM29.90-ish
Where to get: I got mine from iqueen.my

My favourite type of cleansing product would be mousse, hands down, followed closely by powder and the last would be paste type.

The reason being I'm too lazy to whip it up into a foam.

I bought this cleanser mainly because I want to qualify for free shipping, and yeah, I have not even heard of the brand. And googling around doesn't come up with ANY sort of review which made me a little bit uneasy. Nevertheless, I took the plunge.
description behind the box

I was a bit worried cuz this cleanser is formulated for sensitive skin. In my dictionary, sensitive=not clean enough as I've had numerous experience with "mild" cleansers still leaving my face feeling oily and still has dirt inside my pores =.=
ingredients list

The big bottle sits nicely and firmly on top of my bathroom counter and I use this every morning and night (after removing makeup). Normally I use about 4-5 pumps to get the fully cushioned, fluffy wash which requires less time and tugs at my skin less.
nice, fluffy goodness

The bottle is now down to the last 20%, however iqueen.my has taken this down? I wanted to repurchase! So I bought another variant for oily skin by the same brand, hopefully it turns out good... hurm hurm.

So yeah, ratings below:

Packaging: 4/5 who doesn't like pumps? but given its size, it is not travel-friendly.

Smell: 3/5 It smells a little on the weird side given that it has perfume in it. However I feel like my nose has grown accustomed to it, so it doesn't bother me much.

Cleansing power: 4/5 Leaves my skin feeling soft, plump and clean. Wow, that's not easy considering that normal high pH paste foam cleansers make me feel like my skin is not clean enough and they strip off the moisture too. This is defo one of my fav cleansers of all time. Doesn't irritate my skin after double cleansing or anything and doesn't dry out my skin.

Overall: 4/5 I highly recommend those with dry or sensitive skin to try this, it's cheap and good. Too bad I can't find anywhere else that's selling this in Malaysia

I bought this for my sister during Xmas Eve last year and now it's finished. First time I am writing a review where the product is finished hahaha!

My sister wanted a new face wash cuz she broke out badly after using NARUKO's Tea Tree Purifying Clay Cleanser and needed something soothing and suitable for irritated skin. I was this close to buying stuff from Koreadepart but an email promo from Nattacosme stopped me in my tracks!

Haul Last December

Yes there it was, not one but TWO Klairs product for RM52 (Approx 15 USD)! I immediately called my sister and voila! It arrived in the mail after 2 days! The normal price is USD 13~ if I remember correctly.

I only got to try it in January after I came home. I used it on and off mainly because 1) It's only 100ml 2)I have so many other cleansers that are waiting to be finished off!

The cleanser comes out in sluggish foam which you only need a little bit for cleansing. It has a mild smell, which is common in peptide-based product. Anyway, it doesn't smell artificial to me.

Many 'soothing' or 'for sensitive skin' cleansers always have a common problem - they don't cleanse well enough. Klairs' cleanser is a good exception. It cleanses pretty well without leaving my face feeling oily, dry or taut.

Before-During-After Cleansing using Klairs Rich Moist Foaming Cleanser

I use this together with their Supple Preparation Toner albeit to no dramatic difference in the healing department. It was just moisturising.

Anyway, back to the cleanser. It performs very well in cleansing and protecting my skin, which is a huge plus point. My only gripe is that it finishes up fast. In less than 2 months it is finished already.

Packaging: 4/5 No frills pump bottle which is common amongst foam producing cleansers.

Smell: 4/5 No fragrance added so it smells like peptide infused  product. I do not mind that at all.

Cleansing ability: 4.8/5 Enough for non-made up face. Cleanses well without  dry or taut feeling. Doesn't make my skin peel.

Overall: 4/5 I'd give a 5 if it wasn't for the fact that it is expensive and finishes so fast! Normally my cleansers last me at least 3-4 months. Recommended for all skin types, except super oily skin.

Review: Nature Republic Ultra Fresh Carbonic H2O Cleansing Water

Volume: 510ml

Price: RM57 not including shipping from Korea

Description: This cleanser contains carbonic water from Jeju Mountain Sanbang Springs, which functions as a makeup remover and a facial cleanser and eliminates skin impurities requiring no additional facial wash.

How to Use: Damp an adequate amount of the product onto a cotton pad and wipe the whole face clean, including lip and eye maeup, and rinse off with lukewarm water. No additional face wash required.

Woot! This cleansing water comes with a small box of free cotton pads. The huge 510ml is 10ml more than bottled mineral water sold here in Malaysia. I was really excited to try this out because it contains carbonic water (aka tansan water)! Edit: it is also 2nd place in Get It Beauty's blind test for cleansing water in Feb 2015. Bioderma is 3rd while Dr Jart landed the first place!

ingredients

The bottle is blue with a snap-cap to contain the water inside. It smells kinda like a toned down men's cologne. But nothing too bad. Hehehe.

The water itself is not coloured. And its texture is just like water with a hint of slipperiness. I must say it cleanses off base makeup very well. It did not sting my skin, but it did sting my eyes a little bit!

Let's check out its makeup removing power! Hehe

1st swipe

3 swipes

nth time swiping, there's some brow pencil marks & the eyeline marker left

And some before/after of my face.
with Naruko's Magnolia Cream Makeup on
After removing my base makeup

You have to make sure your cotton pad is soaked with the cleansing water to avoid excessive tugging.

After using this, you have to rinse off with water, and no second washing is required. I did as I was told, but my nose felt kinda dry so I washed off with my usual facial cleanser. I still do feel that second washing is important to remove all traces of leftover makeup. Well it's up to one's preference.

Since carbonic water works well for clogged skin, I recommend this for people with huge, clogged pores. However I do not recommend this for sensitive skin or really dry skin. This is more suitable for those with combination/oily skin.

Packaging: 4/5 I do think that the snap cap might break if you accidentally drop it on the ground. The body itself is soft enough to squeeze the water out and it doesn't dispense an amount more than what I wanted.

Scent: 4/5 Okay-ish. Not very strong and disappears fairly quickly.

Cleansing power: 3.5/5 Great for removing base makeup, but it doesn't remove waterproof marker eyeliner and lip tint that well.

Review: Daiso Brush and Sponge Cleanser

Volume: 80ml
Price: RM5
Made in: Japan

ingredients list

I cannot seem to cleanse my airpuff very well using whatever that I have at home, so I decided to buy the most affordable sponge cleanser that I know out there- which just happens to be Daiso's! Don't get me wrong, I really love Daiso :)

The bottle is a small, white bottle like a normal nail remover, and you'll have to pick out the right one as I nearly bought a feminine cleanser instead of a brush cleanser! They have the same bottle design and the cover is almost the same.

I am one quite particular with smell. This smells like weird mumbo jumbo of chemicals. It gave me throbbing migraines! (I don't have any sort of regular headaches) Oh god why.

Dirty air puffs

apply the cleanser onto dirtied parts of your air puff

the gel emulsifies the dried bb cream

That aside, it comes out like a gel lotion, and it is colourless. You need to use it on a dry brush/sponge and massage it in. You will instantly see that the foundation/eyeshadow etc literally disappears as it works its magic! Woohoo~ I really like the cleansing power.
not supposed to wring it; alas only my left hand is available

Next you will need to rinse the brush/sponge that you have thoroughly. When I mean thorough, it is because I cannot afford to accidentally smell that awful smell and gave me migraine in the morning.

And airpuffs are super hard to cleanse. It will somehow hold onto the product that you use to apply it with.

Tadah~~ Clean air puff!! Now you just need to hang it tp dry in a dry, airy place.

Smell: 0/5. Awful. Gave me headaches. I think I need to give it -10000 if I can.

Texture: 4.5/5 It eases the process of cleansing leftover makeup.

Function:4.5/5 It erases literally everything off of my normal NBR puff and eyeshadow applicator. Didn't manage to clean everything on my airpuff though.

Overall: 3/5 Get rid of the awful smell and I will give this 4.5/5!

Review: SU:M 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick

Weight: 30g (Sample Size)
Price: USD 5 (not incl shipping)
the back of the box

Hola! This cleansing stick was in my wish list since last summer. It was USD 5 for 30g, and the seller threw in 2 samples from Whoo and 2gy!

Okay enough about the grandmother story. The sample came in a glossy maroon box (squashed). The cleansing stick inside is also molded into a rectangular tube.

The smell is a rich rose aroma with a few other flowers and it does feel luxurious. The cleansing stick is super soft and super weak against any applied force so I guess that it why it must be housed in a stick.

It melts in water. Do not put it anywhere near water after being done with your cleansing yo.

This is a picture of about a week's usage. It depletes fast so I'm guessing I will be making another purchase very soon?

How to use this stick> First you wet your face and then rub the cleanser lightly on your wet face (swipe your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin) and then use your hands and massage in circular motion.

before
all foamed up

after rinsing
after applying skincare

The cleanser foams up effortlessly, but bubbles are really minimal. It was a bit more than Sulwhasoo's Herbal Soap. A little really goes a long way.

After washing it off, it left me without a tight feeling for about 15 minutes. I usually need to apply lotion in 3 minutes of drying off my skin or it will be very dry. The first time after using this my blackheads easily came off. Phew! It was like they were sick of staying in my pores and wanted out, like now!

My skin feels clean and totally relaxed. I like it where it didn't harden the blackheads/oils inside the pores which made them easier to be removed.

Smell: 5/5 Absolutely heavenly. I really love rose scents but it might not be your thing.
Texture: 2/5 It is like super soft wax which melts in water. And I have to be careful not to squish it.
Cleansing Power: 4/5 My face feels clean and it really helps in removing dirt and gunk inside pores gradually. It is also very kind to skin.

Upcoming Haul Post!!!

Cough. I just bought some stuff over the past week so I thought I'd share some tidbits.

Clothing:
3 pieces of cheongsam. These are for my graduation. I bought a long one, a knee-length one, and the last one is a cheongsam top. Finally shipped out from China after 7 days. =.= I just hope it can arrive in time!

Makeup:
I bought my sistah Espoir's Nude Face Slip Cushion in Ivory Pure (C21) Heheheh. Another cushion for me to try out next. Will be posting a mini review ;P

I also bought 3x rubycell puffs in case my Holika Holika Cushion BB's puff died on me. I never knew there were 2 types of rubycell puffs. There's a slimmer, stiffer one and a thicker, softer one. No wonder the beauty shop's rubycell puffs seem stiff and odd to me. My Holika Holika's puff is very soft and malleable. (cough i didn't twist or wring it okay)

I nearly bought myself another lip tint but it was too expensive (about RM20 so I didn't)

Skincare:
I bought a tub of Freeset hydrogel eye masks cuz my fine lines are getting out of hand *cough. Initially I bought Petitfee's but the aunty in me decided to cancel Petitfee and buy Freeset instead cuz it had 2x the no of masks compared to Petitfee.

And the last one...JENG JENG JENG!!
SUM 37 ROSE CLEANSING STICK!!! Without the case. A refill/sample. Nope it wasn't very expensive. It was USD 5 only... Heheheh. Can't wait to try it. Previously the cheapest one I could find is about RM65 or USD20. USD 5 is a huge bargain! I've been eyeing this since last year but couldn't convince myself to buy it because I have a lot of cleansers lining up to be finished!

The total damage? Urmmm around MYR 200 for cosmetics and another MYR 110 for my beautiful cheongsams. Being the aunty that I am, I like to hunt for good bargains so I think I will not buy anything for a good few months.

I'll share my thoughts and reviews on some of the items so stay tuned! xoxo

Review: Too Cool For School Egg Mousse Soap

Volume: 150ml
Price: 12000 won
Availability: My sis got this from Korea
I love mousse cleansers because they are so easy to use and fun! When I randomly saw tcfs's products I was immediately attracted to their packaging. Super chic and fun too~ I almost wanted to get it from Qoo10 when I first saw it!
So my sister bought this for me during her stay in Korea in July and I didn't open it until recently.
The box is fully in Korean, which I understood none of them. But I took pictures in case anyone wanted to refer to it.

Since this mousse cleanser has egg white, I assume it's for pore tightening.

Ingredients list

First Impression: I pressed out a little too much foam. My, the foam was super dense. I couldn't even see the tiny bubbles. It almost felt like whipped cream! I wet my face before spreading the mousse on my skin and that felt really weird. It was like I was putting shaving cream all over my face. (Not that I've put shaving cream on my face before, but the feeling is similar, lol)

So the mousse wouldn't die down and then I was left clueless on whether to wait or wash it off. After contemplating a few seconds, I washed it off because it's labeled a SOAP so I figured not to let it sit on my face for too long ;P
My skin was clean but I felt that the sides of my nose weren't clean enough so I proceeded to wash again with normal foam cleanser.
For this review:
I pressed the mousse out (all you need is a teeny amount) and directly spread it on my face. Well, actually I forgot to wet my face beforehand. This time, the feeling is totally different. The mousse quickly died down and voila, it seems that the mousse has just sunk in my skin and wouldn't budge. I wet my face a bit to massage in circular motion before washing it off.

The mousse turns pastey on my dry face
Rubbed in with my wet palms
After washing & toweled dry

My skin felt squeaky but strangely enough it still has moisture...! Good. It cleanses well and there's no residue of anything dirty I have accumulated on my face during the day.
Before
After

Packaging: 3.5/5 aerosol can is used so I guess it's not really travel friendly? But it's the reason behind the oh-so-dense foam so I won't complain too much.
Cleansing power: 5/5 on a dry face. Didn't try on makeup though.
Smell: 4/5 Okay-ish floral smell. Not a whiff of egg white
Pore tightening: 2/5 Can't feel anything. Doesn't seem to show drastic improvement.
Overall: 4/5 Great, fun cleanser if you're not pining for the pore tightening aspect.

Please excuse the horrid condition of my bare face... those dark circles grrr
