Random: How Internet Shopping Has Changed My Life

I tell you it's crazy! I've been ordering from Taobao ever since I restarted my studies here in the Uni. For many times its my friends asking me to help buy them stuff hahaha! Still its a growing addiction! I keep browsing new clothes and adding them to cart :D

Normally I use Visa to buy and a shipping agent to help me ship my clothes. They charge a 3% Visa fee and I dunno which exchange rate they use (ie Maybank forex or international forex rate) but the exchange rate incl of visa fees is around 1.79 (CNY to MYR). I saw some agent is offering 1.85 to help you buy & ship which is a pretty darn good rate but I can't confirm whether he is legit or not yet. Too many conman out there nowadays. Haven't tried buying "sensitive" goods or bulky goods yet but I have the feeling that shipping and handling will be so much more expensive hmm.

Anyway, I've just recently started to browse online Korean Cosme Shops like Honestskin, Sweet Corea, Innisfree Official and Etude House Official and they tempt me to buying EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I know right. Where can you find cheap deals like this?

Sigh. I swore off cushion BBs for now because I haven't finished my Holika Holika Photo Ready Cushion BB and my NARUKO Taiwan Magnolia Firming Smooth Finish Cream Makeup yet and I still have some relatively unused bb creams at home. MUST RESIST.

I still buy from local pharmacies though.

Crazy: Making my Own CC (Correct & Care) Cream

I am leaving for another grueling 2 years at the University so I started packing my face stuff first (duh!) As you guys see, I have quite a number of bb creams at home and since I only have one face, finishing them up seems to be N years later... And if I don't use them, no one's gonna touch them at home.

Well I have these small jars at home (sample sized products) so I thought to hmm... make my own CC cream! (I am also gonna wash up my cushion BB after I've finished it, and then refill it with my other BB creams at home lol) My version of CC cream will be Correct & Care, which is somewhat a lighter BB cream with more skincare instead of normal bb creams.

I know what I like: Some coverage (to even out skin tone), very very very lightweight, and non sticky. And not smelly.

I whipped out 3 products to mix them up:

• O'slee Aqua Medi (for that refreshing, fast absorbing finish)
• 3W Clinic Intensive UV Sunblock Cream (Urmm to be a mediator for my BB cream later)
• Missha Signature Wrinkle Filler BB Cream (to even out skin tone)

and a special guest...NARUKO's Narcissus DNA Repairing Night Gelly (Just a dime size...for fun!)

The ratio is something like 2:2:1 (Oslee:3W Clinic:Missha) but I cannot be sure cuz I kinda mix it up bit by bit.

My mixer is a metal chopstick hahahah!

Review: O'slee Clear Spa Sleeping Mask

This sleeping mask had been around since 2006 I believe. O'slee is a Hong Kongese brand which is famous for their Rosehip Beauty Solution. As far as I know, it is a steady seller in Malaysia too.

I bought this along with 3 travel sets during my lastpurchase. The sleeping mask is housed in a solid tub. It does not include a separator lid or spatula to scoop the contents out.

The sleeping mask is a clear, bluish gel which doesn't really sink into my skin after spreading it out.

Smell:2.5/5 It smelled like their Skin Aerobics Whitening Sleeping Mask. Quite irritating, and not relaxing at all.

Absorption: 3/5 It doesn't absorb into my skin. In fact it leaves a thin film on my skin, which can be annoying to certain people because it is a sleeping mask and we don't want to stain our pillowcase or sheets while using this. What I do is to apply a thin layer of this mask as the last step of my regime and wait to dry for a bit before going to sleep.

Moisture: 3.5/5 It doesn't heal my peeling nose or rough skin on my cheekbones. So I'm pretty disappointed.

Overall Effect: 3/5 It doesn't make my skin glow/super plump or healthy (the mask supposedly detoxifies?) . Well, I suppose I've put my hopes up too high I guess, because my skin usually likes O'slee products but this didn't work for me.

On a side note, I applied for O'slee samples a month ago and they arrived a few days ago! I love how generous they are in giving out samples, makes you feel appreciated as a customer/ potential customer :)

Next up I'll be doing a mini review on their new Lemon Soda Serum, as I have a lot of the samples at home!

Filler post - Yay My Parcel Arrived

Well technically it arrived at my house, not my hostel.

But my sister sent me a picture of the items and I'm freaking excited!

Review: O'slee Rosehip Whitening Mask

I got this on sale. It was RM2 per piece! There is no ingredients list or weight printed on the packaging. Just the usual instructions like leaving the mask for 15 mins on your face and use 2-3 times a week for maximum results.

Based  on the packaging, the mask functions to whiten and eliminate imperfections on your skin. I had dry, tired and problematic skin prior to using this, so we will see how it fares!

The cloth was thick and the essence was a bit thick, so there was no dripping. My lament was the cutting of the mask. It was really weird. It will be suitable for people with long faces I guess. The nose and chin part was too small and too long respectively, for me. I had to fold it up.

The mask did not smell very nice like their beauty solution, instead it was with a hint of alcohol. It stung my eyes a bit T.T

The results? Brighter skin but disappointingly no "Woah!" results.

The good: Thick cloth

The bad: not so visible results, sting my eyes, weird mask cutting

Review: O'slee Aqua Medi Refreshing Hydro Cream

Description: Transform to fountain of water drops 24-hour hydration. With Aqua Lock-up Technology, all hydrating ingredients are locked until the cream is spread over. It then transforms into a million water drops on skin and penetrate into the deep skin layer quickly.

Ingredients: water, butylene glycol, propylene glycol, cyclomethicone, hydroeyethyl urea, sodium pca, hydrolyzed chitin, peg-10 demethicone, isonyl isononanoate, squalene, isohexadecane, opuntia, ficus-indica extract, narcussus tazetta extract, algae extract, licorice root extract, phenoxyethenol, panthenol (VB5), sodium chloride, hyaluronic acid, disodium EDTA, spearmint leaf oil

The paper box is quite a statement itself with a big size for a small tub of 50ml with all the instruction you need for the cream! The Aqua Medi is part of the MEDI line from O'slee which targets different needs with high performance products. Usually I can't see drastic improvement from small sample sachets (coughkoreanskincarecough) but I was sold when I first used Aqua MEDI from a small sample sachet from my August purchase.

The bottle itself is a glass jar and it is quite heavy. I like the chic, clean cut design of the jar and as usual, the instructions are missing on the bottle. You may need to keep the box if you want to read the instructions LOL.

It is easy to scoop the cream out when the jar is full. I think I will need to dig around the corners of the jar when the cream is almost used up. For hygiene freaks, there is no spatula given.

the cream is of gel cream consistency but a little watery. When i spread the cream across my skin, i don't see water droplets as per shown onthe box  but I can feel that the cream turns very thin in viscosity before being absorbed and leaving a thin layer of protection on my skin. The smell is very refreshing! I LOVE the smell. It's especially good during the mornings!

The cream makes my skin less oily (which means the moisture is delivered) after a long day out! 

The good: Nice smell, good moisturising properties, no parabens or perfume

The bad: quite pricey for a drugstore brand

O'SLEE Parcel!

Woot! This is the second time I've purchased through O'slee Malaysia's website, and the goods have finally reached me yay!

Due to lack of creams, (I've been really strict with my budget this semester) I feel that my skin start showing LINES around the eyes. And it somewhat  SAGS and looks dry and wrinkled up. OMG!

When I saw Oslee having promotion for aqua medi, I thought to myself,"THIS MUZ BE IN MA DRAWER" thus i bought the aqua medi, and also masks on sale!

During October Oslee had a aqua set promo which i didnt buy because I just bought one whitening set in late August FML. The aqua set had what i needed, dammit!

 They should keep on giving out (more) samples because I got hooked by Aquamedi through the sample i received last time! the only question i have is that the products looked like they've fought in some world war or something. The box and samples are all crinkled up!

WOW! Generous samples!! Actually everything i try before edy except UV cut medi and white medi (idk but they never gave samples for white medi), hehe.

 I recommend buying from O'slee's website because you can find monthly promos which is a lot cheaper than buying one by one. The promo sets are usually catered to different needs, so don't worry because you can find something suited for your needs!

Review: Oslee Rosehip Hydra White Cleansing Powder

I brought this to NZ with me and used it for 4 months, and finished when I came back. It has blackhead clearing properties and really does what it says.

Other than clearing blackheads it also has whitening function, which is not really obvious to me.

To use:

Pour out the powder (about 1.5 cm in diameter) onto your wet palms and lather it up for a bit. It doesn't produce foamy lather but cleans very well. Massage your wet face for 30 seconds. Wash it off.

Pros: Blackhead clearing, fresh, nice smelling
Cons: Not very moisturising, but it is ok to me

I got this free from my purchase back in May. This mask draws out the impurities in your pores and brighten your skin.

The effect is pretty nice, although a little drying on me. For dry skin like mine, I think it is better if you use it once a week only.

This mask is unscented, therefore it has a weird smell. The mask dries very quickly into a thin veil of powder on your face. After 15 minutes, I wash off the mask. My skin feels fresh and brighter!
